a delicious Guatemalan medium roast from Patrick’s bean
Patrick is a local roaster who brings craft and community together. Not only is it some of the most delicious coffee I’ve enjoyed, but it is also direct trade, so you know the producers are getting an equitable price. Additionally, Patrick gives a percent of every roast to shelter and food aid programs in the city.
I had the fortune to visit the CCDA (Comite Campesino Del Altiplano) for three months to see how they produce their coffee and why. We brought saplings to different communities around Lake Atitlan, attended workshops at their educational facility, and marched on the capital to see that the leaders of genocide were held accountable.
The CCDA produces Cafe Justicia, the quintessential coffee they market around the world which gives economic stability to their communities and funds their ecological and socio-political initiatives.
This is the main bean in many of Patrick’s blends. And what I often like to feature on its own.
the Tea
